I can’t even really find the words to express just how inspiring and beautiful you are,as a song writer,a singer and generally just a person,I don’t personally know you(obviously,I mean I’d be on cloud nine if I did) but the things you write and your songs put so much into perspective for me,I can relate to them and in the past they’ve helped me;I follow you on facebook, avidly I might say, everything you say is almost poetry because of the pure and natural quirkiness of you,I would consider you the role model of our generation, and me being 15,and quite impressionable I feel that because of you,my life and way of thinking is just that bit happy,so I’d like to thank you for that, and hopefully I’ll be able to see you live in the near future, lots of love Elise xo
I was there that night at the Bush Hall when you fell over tying to climb onto your keyboard. All credit to you for getting right back up there though! Met lovely Brigitte outside afterwards. Before the gig, I witnessed, at very close quarters, an old lady being knocked over by a kid on a bike who went straight through a red light. That happened right outside the venue.
There was also this weird guy who started shouting in my ear whilst you were on stage. I told him where to go, naturally. Then, after the gig, whilst I was attending to some business in the toilet, he came in and stood next to me and started talking to me again! Then when I was outside talking to Brigitte he came along and butted in. It was like having a stalker!
You don’t half get some odd people at your gigs! Ahem…..
Im not sure if you’ll even see this Kate, but i want to say Thankyou.
I’ve listened to you since you first came out in 2007. I’ve screamed Model Behaviour and Mansion Song, i’ve cried hopelessly over past loves to Nicest thing, i’ve danced with attitude to pumpkin soup, and silent treatmented my boyfriend whilst listening to foundations, and when my mum got sick… i cried myself to sleep to Old Dances,
And i hate Seagulls is to date my favourite song ever written.
I want to say thankyou, and despite the fact i dont know you personally, you, your music and your writing has kept me afloat.
Your blog ” freaks hold hands” helped pull me out of one of my darkest times with body issues, and you as a person have reminded me its okay to be normal.
Its okay to fall over, cry, feel crap, dance like an idiot and play and write music even if your no shakespeare.
You’re the reason i picked up guitar, the reason i sing, and you have reminded me there are plenty of good, beautiful people in the world. .
So thankyou, you have inspired me.
You have made me feel okay about being me ( a weirdo).
You have made me feel okay about struggling with mental ilness.
You have changed my life.
So Thankyou.
Thanks a lot.
thank you for everything. you are saving the world more than most people. at least you are actually doing something. not just saying you are. im glad i get to live in a world where i can see you changing it.
Hey! I love your music and creativity! Been a fan since Made of Bricks. I’ve also strung along some more fans, your music is irresistible. haha I really wish you would come perform in Texas one day, preferably San Antonio!!! Also, we have this annual, week-long music event called SXSW in Austin, TX that I really think you should take part in. I would love to see you perform there one year and I think you would really enjoy the whole experience too. Much love!
